In the system, cheque paper in continuous form with ground printing is used.
The printers work in conjunction with each other under the control of a standard personal computer (PC) using specially designed interfaces to ensure synchronization.
The text printer used in the system is a line impulse printer. Print speed in this printer varies between 800 and 2000 lpm depending on the desired print quality. The printer has a straight paper path with few moving parts and no sharp bends. The result is a robust, reliable printer that can handle heavy workloads with ease. Low operating costs – one ribbon can print 25-90 million characters depending on print quality (approx. 100,000 cheque sheets in NLQ print quality).
The MICR drum printer uses hammer impact technology and all transferred magnetic strips to obtain E13B or CMC7 code lines that are fully compliant with ANSI and all other international standards. Fluorescent and indelible (with red ink penetrating into the paper) features and tapes with hidden ink can completely prevent counterfeiting.
PTM all impact cheque printing system capacity is approximately 6500 sheets per hour. (This capacity is calculated assuming a single coding line and maximum 7 lines of personalization information on a 3 ”high cheque in single column printing)
